Powersoft Launches Ottocanali 1204 DSP+ETH

The Powersoft Ottocanali 1204 DSP+ETH eight-channel power amplifier with DSP functionality and Ethernet connectivity offers DSP functionality on each of its eight channels plus Ethernet connectivity that enables full control and monitoring through the Armonía Pro Audio Suite PC software.

The on-board DSP card supports dual 24-bit conversion with high dynamic range and 1 ms fixed latency. DSP functionality includes separate input/output equalization using a variety of filter types – including Butterworth, Linkwitz-Riley and Bessel – with slopes of 6 to 48 dB/octave, plus peak, RMS and frequency-dependent limiters, and delay. Four user presets are provided for every two channels.

Ottocanali offers continuous tone supervision capabilities for the input cabling, amplifier and attached speaker loads, with error reporting via contact closure or email notification through Armonía Pro Suite Software.

The included Ethernet interface (RJ45) allows system setup, monitoring and control directly from a PC or over a network connection, fully manageable via Armonía Pro Audio Suite software. The Ottocanali 1204 DSP+ETH is fully compatible with all other series of Powersoft amplifiers across the network. All other control and signal connections are via industry standard Phoenix terminations.

Versatile and flexible, the Ottocanali 1204 DSP+ETH offers up to 55 different output configurations, and can be configured by the integrator as a four-, five-, six-, seven- or eight-channel amplifier with a variety of different loads attached. It is capable of delivering eight channels at 150 watts each into 4 ohms or 80 W per channel into 8 ohms, a total of up to 1,200 W output power across eight channels for lo-Z or constant voltage systems. Each channel pair can be bridged in low impedance configuration for 300 W into 8 ohms.

Optional BatFormer transformers may be added on all or selected channels for 70V/100V operation at 125 W per channel, while BatFormers may be wired in parallel on adjacent channel pairs for 250 W into 70V or 100V speaker loads.

Additionally, 100V BatFormers may be wired in series for 140 – 200V operation. BatFormers, about one-third the size of comparable conventional transformers, may be added at any time per channel via a dedicated access panel.

There are no exposed front panel controls: output level potentiometers, Energy Save mode selectors and DSP preset selectors are all located behind a panel.

The rear panel includes a power switch, GPIO contacts for monitoring every channel pair and the ability to turn off the unit, switching between eight line and eight auxiliary inputs for interconnection with a voice evacuation system, or system muting, by applying DC voltage.

The Ottocanali 1204 DSP+ETH incorporates many of the patented Powersoft technologies that both sustain the environment and minimize operating costs, including a universal switch mode power supply with PFC (Power Factor Correction), fixed-frequency Class D output stages and other Green Audio Power®; functionality. The unit is currently submitted for EnergyStar approval. The input voltage is flexible from 100 – 240VAC. With a 115VAC mains input, the Ottocanali 1204 draws only 1.99A at one-eighth power into 4 ohms. In idle mode, power consumption is only 14.7 W and there is an optional energy save mode that lowers the draw to 8.7 W.

The Powersoft Ottocanali 1204 DSP+ETH is intended for integration into AV systems in multi-zone venues, including smaller rooms in large scale installations; emergency systems (IEC 60849); performance venues, themed entertainment and amusement parks; shopping malls; cruise ships; corporate, education and hospitality applications; and houses of worship.
